Micron’s Information Systems Department Measures Employee and Customer Awareness using Chavez Survey Research’s Comprehensive Survey Solution
The Goal
The Information Systems Department at Micron Technology, Inc., a leading provider of advanced semiconductor and CMOS image sensor solutions, wanted to measure attitudes, opinions and beliefs held by department members and the department’s primary customers, toward certain aspects of working for, or working with, the department.
The Solution
Chavez Survey Research was asked to conduct the study using its Comprehensive Survey Research solution, beginning with goal and objective development and the formation of the survey instruments and ending with the presentation of the final survey report.
The research measured department members’ awareness of the Information Systems Leadership Team, how they learned about it and interact with it. It also measured awareness of department strategy, how they learned about it, and whether they feel it’s working for them, the department and the company. In addition, the research looked into the recognition team members receive for their work and their perceptions of it.
For customers, the research also measured awareness of the leadership team, how they learned about it and interact with it. It also measured awareness of department strategy, how they learned about it, and whether they feel it’s working for them, the department and the company. In addition, information was gathered about working with the department and the level of comfort they have in asking the department for help.
The Results
For both department members and customers of Micron’s Information Systems Department, the comprehensive survey research solution provided by Chavez Survey Research provided baseline information showing areas where the department’s communication efforts were paying off as well as areas where new communication initiatives can focus. In addition, the study revealed that specific communication vehicles are better at reaching different audiences depending on the message.
With this new understanding, the department will be able to craft future communication initiatives by delivering the needed messages using the most effective vehicles.
